Have you ever had a God moment? I hear people mention them, and I have had some myself. They’re those times when there is a break through of the usual and ordinary moments, those times when you know for sure that God has allowed something to touch you that can only be explained by the presence of God. They can be very simple, or very profound. You know, like the time you were thinking of someone special, and they just ‘happened’ to call you right at that moment. Perhaps there was the time when you were asking God, ‘What is the purpose of my life’? And then you spend the next hour listening to someone spill their guts to you over their failing marriage or a serious illness.
I believe that God breaks through to us in spite of ourselves in most of those times. He needs us to be in position to accomplish something, so he orchestrates the ‘moment’ and we may or may not even know that it was him! I also believe that we can ‘tune in’ to God’s channel and see and experience life in a whole new perspective. If we choose to position ourselves so that we hear him whispering, minute by minute throughout the day, He will amaze us with the frequency and intensity of these ‘moments’. It’s knowing the truths in the words of the Lord when he says things like “I will never leave you or forsake you” and “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” and “..For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
We should strive to live in a continual ‘God moment’, living in close communion with his Spirit, living in such a way that we continually expect to see his hand in all the moments of our day.
