Living Your Hope

Living Your Hope

3/21/14

Robyn called this morning and was troubled. She works for Hospice and deals with the dying every day. I’m reminded that her work and ministry are incredibly important! Pray for her!

Today she was especially sad because one of her patients had to give up her precious pups. They were taken to Woods Humane Society- for which we were grateful. This woman is nearing death and was unable to care for them any longer. I know it’svery stressful for the patient to worry about what will happen to their beloved pets when they are gone. The pain was intensified for Robyn because personally, she knows how much her owndogs mean to her- they’re her babies. Robyn connected with this patient because she also saw how much these ‘babies’ mean to their master, as well as how connected these little innocents were to her. I don’t think I’m overemphasizing that this is a very big deal! I know Robyn’s deep concern if something were to happen to us unexpectedly, what would happen to our four legged family?

I know that we can’t fix every problem in our world and sometimes the weight of the concerns we see can be overwhelming. It’s easier sometimes to just turn away from the pain we perceive.

What if we simply prayed about these things and asked Jesus, ‘What can WE do to ease this pain?’ Hope begins to take over as we realize that God’s resources are greater than ours. ‘Greater is He that is in me’, right? We can’t fix the whole world, but maybe we can help with this one thing we see right in front of us?

We prayed over the phone and an idea emerged. What about trying to connect these soon to be orphaned pets with new adoptive families? Perhaps a Facebook page? I’m not sure how to implement, but with God, all things are possible! Stay tuned!

Keep Hoping! Keep seeking God in your everyday life! Bless someone!

Live out your Hope!

With God’s love,

Pastor Mike
